Far too often, we see brilliant pieces being used, posted and then forgotten about. Either because they feel it is a single-use piece, or because as a business they have overlooked the value of their work. In this blog, we will look at how you can turn one piece of content into many, and how doing so could benefit your marketing and SEO.

What we know 🤓

It is a commonplace chunk of knowledge that for a business to grow organically, it must create original content. How mind-numbing or mind-blowing that content is, is primarily down to who you have hired to develop it.

As users, we are becoming programmed to consume countless pieces of content each day. Without a voice or relevance, anything you create will disappear into the abyss that is the internet. To avoid this, your content must be native to the platform it will be used on. For example, if you’ve written a blog, Instagram probably isn’t the place for it. The hoards of information seekers on LinkedIn may find it far more interesting.

Is video the ideal start? 📹

A lot of businesses believe deeply in the value of video, as do we. However, the majority of those businesses also say ‘We don’t have anyone to appear on video’, ‘we don’t know how to make videos’ or ‘I’m not comfortable in front of a camera’. All of which is totally fine, because there’s one answer for all three complaints…Hire someone else to do it. At Create8 we make everything from animated, infographic based videos to interview style content.

The beauty of video is that from one video, multiple pieces of content can spawn. For example, you record a full-length video of everything you do for your Youtube channel. You then break that video down, firstly into multiple digestible video pieces. You can use those shorter videos on Facebook and Twitter as a brief insight into your business. You could also repurpose the best sections for Instagram reels, which means your business has ticked off another social media platform.

What’s next? 🤔

With video, we can talk 3.5 times faster than we type, well most of us can, which really helps if you only have 10 seconds to keep someone’s attention. Your potential customer will be spoon-fed much more information from your video than anything you’ve written. However, the video is only the start.

Next, you should be breaking down the information from within the video into exciting and more informative paragraphs. Blog content is, after all, one of the most popular forms of content for businesses. With written content being extremely high-ranking in the world of SEO, you will rarely find a company who isn’t tailoring at least some of its content to be in written format.

As videos often contain substantial information, it may even be possible to form two blogs from the one video. If you can, then do it! Don’t forget the repetition of those golden keywords is essential, so it’s time to get it right.

What about the gram? 🤳

Where would any content blog be without some mention of Instagram? With every brilliant piece of video content, there are multiple still image options. Your video’s best bits should already be doing the rounds on Instagram stories, but when it comes to static images, you’ve got that covered too.

Firstly, there’s the option of creating an infographic or informative post that converts the content of the video into easily digestible chunks. Don’t forget Instagram is saturated with images, so it’s going to have to be eye-catching.

Secondly, and a little more. Let’s say, ‘edgy!’ is the meme option. In a video, you’ll have hundreds, possibly thousands of still frames. It might be a member of staff struggling over their words, or an image captured on your drone footage that wasn’t expected. Either way, this can be reused as funny, ‘click-bait’ style content. Something funny and relevant always captures attention. Be honest, how many times have you stopped to show the person you are sitting next to, some words on a screen because they’re relevant to you?
